Start with:

That's a good tutorial by Condor Engineering
(http://www.condoreng.com). If you need information about a specific
label, you may need to go to ARINC or RTCA's web site.
Basically 429 is a self-clocking protocol, +/- 10 volts, differential.
Fairly simple, with a few quirks about the rise/fall times.
