Which Flight School at KCDW ?

Hello,

After +2 years without flying I'm planning to get back to the air.
With a rusty SEL rating, I'm looking for a flight school for two
different goals:
(a) A few lessons for currency and a BFR right now, and
(b) Lessons towards an instrument's rating latter on.

Trying to decide where. Options are: KCDW Caldwell / Essex County / NJ
/ USA, (close to where I work,) or somewhere else, (close to where I
live.)

There are three flight schools at KCDW: MacDan, AirFleet and Century.

Can anybody comment on pros/cons on these three?

I'm afraid I'm unfamiliar with the schools at KCDW, but since it's
close by, I'll put in a plug for a flying club at Morristown (KMMU).
Our club instructor is a CFII.

The Morris Aero Club, established in 1966, currently has a limited
number of memberships available. Based at Morristown, NJ (KMMU), the
club has a Cessna 172M Skyhawk and a Cessna 177B Cardinal available for

members use. Both aircraft are equipped for IFR flight.

Membership requires a one-time payment of $1000 to cover the initiation

fee and an equity stake in the aircraft. Monthly dues are $60, and
flying time (wet) is currently $80/hour for the Skyhawk, and $88/hour
for the Cardinal. Flying time rates are based on tachometer time, not
Hobbs time. Tach time typically gives 20%-30% more flying time for the
dollar.

I can recommend Century. Really nice people. About a dozen
aircraft (several 172s, RG, SP w/ G1000, a piper and a twin)
and Frasca sim. Planes are in good shape. Scheduling's never
a problem.

Hi,

I trained with Century in KCDW, and they were pretty good. They
maintain the airplanes impeccably. I trained with the chief instructor
and he was great, he really cared about me becoming not just a pilot
but a proficient pilot, but as far as I know Century might be expensive
compared to the other schools there.
