SERIES)
Greenwich, CT: Belvoir, 1993. First edition. Fine with near fine jacket.

Author Kevin Garrison imparts sound advice and specific guidelines on to
handle a flight into the busiest airspace in the country. The book begins
with a look at the air traffic control system from its beginnings up to the
present day. It lends insight into how ATC works and how pilots interact
with it. The next section is a detailed description of airspace, complete
with discussions of the new ICAO designation scheme and how it differs from
today's system.

Later on, there are detailed descriptions of every major airport in the
United States, with tips on how to operate at them. There are also specific
guidelines on how to conduct a flight into a busy terminal, from the
preplanning stage right through to the arrival.

Finally, there's a wealth of information on how to communicate effectively
with air traffic control in high density areas, how to keep yourself
organized, and an extensive discussion of safety techniques oriented towards
collision avoidance.
