b-17b vs uboat 10/27/41?

Anyone have any info on this incident? What bombs did the b-17b carry? Was
it natural metal or O/d over gray?

The Fort was flying out of Newfoundland. Standard 1941 USAAF paint job
(O/D over gray). It was carrying 250-pounders, of which it only dropped
one, missing the U-boat.
