I recently purchased a database update for my Northstar M1 LORAN from CMC
Electronics and a new battery which they also list on their Web site.
Replacing the EPROM database was easy, but I cannot find where the battery
goes. Has anyone replaced the battery in the M1? Where is it?
Thanks!

Hi Ron,

Yes, I have replace numerous ones. It is actually part of the memory
chip located forward of the database chips. It looks clearly different
from the other chips. Problem is that it is soldered in to the board.
This is not a project for beginner solderers! You need a solder sucker
pump, solder wick and a very small iron. Let me know if I can help.

Bill
