Free trade is pide piper to global governance. As economic power is
dispersed so is political and ultimetely military power. Power goes
from local areas eg states to federations towards an international
bueorocracy. (The exact opposit to the decentralist ideas countries
like the USA and Switzerland were founded upon.)
The ultra-free trade and globalisation mentality we are seeing I
suspect will produce only a one of gain. It's like the
countriesassets, institutions are being sold of for a one of gain.
While highly restrictve trade practices clearly do not work the latest
incarnation of free trade globalisational mania has become an ideology
of religious proportions to serve itself rather than the people.
Globalisim has NO interest in nationhood or the self determination of
peoples. If there is a shortage of cheap labours or the unions are too
upity there is not need to nurture childbirth, not need to develop
asnd train more people it;s simply a matter of immigraion. It is a
force to serve the interests of a new globalised elite. Noi
unuexpectafly it can use univeralist principles.
Values become commodotised like pork bellies. Economic indicators
such as 'Growth' which are detached from beneift to the people of a
nation become more important.
Going to China will open anyones eyes. 120 million middle class
better of than those in the USA. I got picked up at the airport by a
contact driving a Mercedes 500SEL and we drove for 45 minutes on
multilane freeway which was technicaly perfect.
China is ofcourse where the USA's technical base is going and with the
USA's help. They are starting to build some interesting and
impressive aircraft with real avionics.
The question is this: Do we want the protection of the nation state
or do we want to be run by a globalised buerocracy based around a self
serving centralised power that only an elite practised at resource
accumulation and will influence.
