Army aviators get decorated

Chief Warrant Officer John Marrero said being shot at while flying a
helicopter in Afghanistan was ''not what you think it would be.''

''You realize you are getting fired at, and you fire back,'' said
Marrero, who is 34. ''Before you know it, it's over.''

Marrero was among about 400 aviation soldiers who received medals
Thursday in a ceremony at a hangar on Simmons Army Airfield on Fort
Bragg. He received two Air Medals.
