September issue of Afterburner now on line

(EXCERPT) Release No. 9-03-03 Sept. 8, 2003 September issue of
Afterburner now on line The text version of the September issue of the
Afterburner, News for USAF Retired Personnel, has been posted at

http://www.afpc.randolph.af.mil/afretire. A Word 7.0 version is also
available to those who prefer that format.

The printed version will go in the mail Sept. 9 to approximately
754,000 Air Force retirees and surviving spouse. It should be in each
mail box by Sept. 20.

The page 1 articles are titled: "Thousands apply for combat related
special compensation," and "Retiree Council to fill 3 area vacancies."
The lead story gives pertinent information about the CRSC, including
how to get the proper forms and where to submit them. The other story
tells what council positions will be open and how to apply if you live
in the area of a vacancy.

Page 2 has an Editor's notebook telling how donating blood to the
Armed Forces Blood Program could be considered the perfect gift.
