Sorry to hear that the four airmen died. As the Germans say, it was a "flyer's
death" and one with a certain amount of honor, as the crew tried to avert
deaths on the ground.

Just heard on Russian TV news: Tu-160 (Blackjack) crashed 11:04 (Moscow
time) when
going to land at its Engels AFB (Saratov Oblast on Volga). Eyewitnesses
allegedly report
an engine went aflame. All four-man crew lost, supposedly because the pilot
attempted to
lead the aircraft away from a nearby township. The bomber board no. 01
'Mikhail Gromov'
was built in 1991 and its operating life was to last through 2010. Tragic
news, sad day...
