Mexican military plane crash kills six
(EXCERPT) MEXICO CITY, Sept. 20 — A Mexican air force transport plane
has crashed in central Mexico killing all six crew members,
authorities said on Saturday. The Hercules C-130 crashed 40 miles (70
km) south of the city of Zacatecas on Friday after dropping off troops
in the city of Mexicali on the U.S. border, the defense ministry said
in a statement.
The plane crashed in an uninhabited area and no one on the ground was
hurt, a defense ministry spokesman said. ''It seems like there was a
mechanical failure and it fell to the earth in flames,'' said a
