According to the Soaring 1997 sailplane directory, there was then 1 in the
USA. 3 were factory built and 20 kits were sold.

According to
http://www.aircraftone.com/aircraft/models/briegleb_bg_7_79001kz.asp there
are two registered in the US; however, there is a note that the one in
Placerville, CA may not be airworthy.

As Wayne mentioned, there are two currently listed on the FAA books.
The status of N4565K in California is listed as "revoked", while
N4032A in Wisconsin is listed as "valid". You can, of course find the
location on the FAA registry of aircraft type and N-numbers.

This is a case where the registration files can be particularly difficult to
use, since most BG-7s were apparently homebuilts. For example: a homebuilt
Briegleb BG-7 built by John Doe might be registered as a "Doe BG7"-

Also, the sailplane directory mentions that modifications were common, including
spoilers, cockpit mods, fuze lengthening, and vertical fin mods. The bottom
line is that there may be several BG-7s in the USA hiding under assumed names
and obscured with clever disguises.
