Has anyone tried anti-reflective plastic film on the gpsmap or another
device? Garmin says there is an anti-reflective coating on the screen but
it doesn't look like it to me. With the 496 gizmo mounted on the copilot
side I've been able to knock down the glare by putting a kid's black tee
shirt over the copilot yoke but the film might be a better solution.

My 396 also has quite a bit of glare. I have used a plastic cover on
my PDA and it has been very effective, so would seriously consider one
for the 396 as well.

There have been trials done by users of the flight planning prog at:
http://www.pocketfms.com/
Search for glare or go to:
http://www.pocketfms.com/phpBB2/search.php?mode=results
or specifically:
http://www.pocketfms.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2605&highlight=glare
or:

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the feedback. I've ordered some non-glare self sticking film and
will report back on how it works. I see Sporty's has some already cut to
size but the 'value added' price is very high.
