Hello !

We are a small group of pilots who operate a PA 38-112 Tomahawk II.
On the last anual inspection we were told that next time the three universal
joints in the aileron control linkage need to be replaced.
They are located under the instrument panel.
We got a price quote from Piper, they want 540$ for one piece !!
Is there anyone around with a cheap alternative/parts source ?

Regards,

It wouldn't happen to be a standard Mil-Spec U-joint part like an
MS20270 series from Belden would it?

Both KRN and Avparts show 1 or 2 in stock.
krn.com 1-800-366-6462 Arizona
Av-parts.com 1-877-377-0007 Georgia

I've purchased parts from both companies without any problems. Don't know
about shipping overseas or 8130s.

You need to join the free Yahoo Tomahawk group. They had a discussion on
this very topic recently. Here's the URL for the group:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/piperpa38tomahawkclub/

The discussion started with message number 8415 which, after you've joined
the group, is available on that site's URL I just gave you. You can write in
and ask questions and the guys there will be happy to help you out. Good
luck with your repairs!
