And why would I buy an aircraft that gets worse gas mileage than my Bonanza?

Not to mention where are my wife, 2 kids, all their baggage, and other junk
going to ride?
Oh, and LSA across Lake Michigan? There's a topic for a new thread! :)
Should we add crossing at night? in the winter? IMC?
You first buddy, I'll watch.

Yeah...I can just imagine trying to run a business spread over 800,000
square miles from the cockpit of a 100MPH puddle jumper.

Quite the contrary, I'm giving the VLJ market a really hard look.

Gas Hog?

Well, I am flying a 182 in about 2 to 3 weeks that will burn at cruise about
6-8 gallon's of JET-A per hour and had a range of 4,000+ NM producing full
230HP at 12.5 crusing at about 130 Knots.... Oh and 100LL & Jet A is Not Gas
it's Fuel!!!

How much gas can you buy with the money
it costs to buy this fuel burner?

I read about the Wheeler Express fatal attempt to fly from Europe to
Oshkosh nonstop with wet wings and 2 tanks in the backseats... 450 gallons
total, 3800+ miles for 30 hours. Flight didn't last more than a few miles
with a +16k hour pilot builder. It had 300hp engine and a 200 mph
airframe...

I'm figuring between 240 and 380 gallons for your adventure. I'm confused
about the "I am flying" and the "had a range" parts though...

Well, it's going to Africa and 100LL is really hard to obtain there and if
you do get it its more than likely coming out of a rusty barrel.
