Aviation hall conducts inaugural induction

(EXCERPT) Nine people become the first inductees into the Oregon
Aviation Hall of Honor.

MCMINNVILLE — The top attraction at the Evergreen Aviation Museum
typically is the planes, in particular, the Spruce Goose with its
wingspan of 320 feet.

But on Sunday, museum-goers focused on those who designed, built and
flew the bombers and fighter planes like those on display.

In a three-hour ceremony, nine people became the first inductees into
the Oregon Aviation Hall of Honor, which recognizes those from Oregon
or with ties to the state who have made important contributions to
aviation and airpower.
