According to the Edwards AFB newspaper, a B-1B set about 50 world
speed records during the October 25 - 26 weekend air show.

On the first day the plane was above 330,000 lbs. In that weight class
it set 100- and 500-km closed course speed records, as well as a 15-km
straight line speed record. The 1000-km closed course record is
awaiting confirmation that it exceeded the old record, 1089 km/h, by
the mandatory 1% or more.

The next day the runs were repeated in a lighter weight class.
Strangely, the speeds reported by the paper are lower, not higher as
I'd expect.

Both days the cargo (inert 500-lb bombs) was released on the range in
sight of the crowd after completion of the runs.

By the way, the Thunderbirds performed at the show, but with only one
solo pilot. It probably had to do with the recent crash.
