RAS:

the aviation website www.avweb.com has a weekly feature called
"Picture of the Week" where aviators submit their favorite photos and
the best are picked. I finally got a shot in the weekly roundup. A
great shot of Matt Michael and I with our gliders after our incredible
and fun flight on October 28, 2007 in Central Iowa, USA.

That's great! I'm really pleased to see you guys campaigning those old
homebuilt gliders, and having such a great time at it.

Wandering off-topic, have you been in contact with Stan Hall? I'm sure
he'd appreciate knowing that there's still at least one Cherokee II on
the circuit.

Thanks, Bob K.

Bob,

I did have a phone conversation with Stan shortly after I bought the
glider in 2005. I understand that since then his health had taken a
downturn but am not aware of how he is currently doing. I recently
sent a summary with full size photos (that one included) the the
surviving builder of my glider, William Ree. I really should do the
same for Stan.

Oh and who are you calling old? Matt's Woodstock is nearly half the
age of the Cherokee! :) and they both are younger than my dad (mine
just barely)

Old? I think I'm the youngest one in that photo and I'm just a kid!

Seriously, rescueing that Cherokee from 20 years in a mouldering
trailer and seeing it back in the sky and boldly going where no one
has gone before is one of the most satisfying things I've ever been a
part of.
