RAS:
the aviation website www.avweb.com has a weekly feature called "Picture of the Week" where aviators submit their favorite photos and the best are picked. I finally got a shot in the weekly roundup. A great shot of Matt Michael and I with our gliders after our incredible and fun flight on October 28, 2007 in Central Iowa, USA. http://www.avweb.com/newspics/potw/l...otw09_1350.jpg |

That's great! I'm really pleased to see you guys campaigning those old
homebuilt gliders, and having such a great time at it. Wandering off-topic, have you been in contact with Stan Hall? I'm sure he'd appreciate knowing that there's still at least one Cherokee II on the circuit. Thanks, Bob K. |

I understand that since then his health had taken a downturn but am not aware of how he is currently doing. I recently sent a summary with full size photos (that one included) the the surviving builder of my glider, William Ree. I really should do the same for Stan. Oh and who are you calling old? Matt's Woodstock is nearly half the age of the Cherokee! ![]() just barely) Tony |

Old? I think I'm the youngest one in that photo and I'm just a kid!
Seriously, rescueing that Cherokee from 20 years in a mouldering trailer and seeing it back in the sky and boldly going where no one has gone before is one of the most satisfying things I've ever been a part of.
