Judging from what I read here,http://www.dtic.mil/ndia/aircraft/6.pdf
the folks involved in this discipline would like to have their efforts
more in the forefront. Recent events suggest survivability is a back
burner issue until bad things happen.

The finer points of "Survivability" "Susceptability" and
"Vulnerabilty" could well use some greater understanding and attention
all up and down the food chain.
