Any word on the continued development of FIRM (FIeld Responsive
Munitions)?
It doesn't look like any fifth generation fighter will have this
capability as the current gun design would take up a huge ventral gun
tray and put the powerplant dangerously near the tail of the aircraft,
sandwiched between two thrust-vectoring engines.
Anyone in the aviation tech sector know anything about any redesign
work in progress?
