I have been watching the DVD of Dark Blue World the film about Czech fighter
pilots in WW2.
In the first scenes of the movie the pilots are training in Czechoslovakia
before the German invasion. Several of the aircraft are clearly Bucker
Jungmann types but there is another that is different. The rudder is more
rounded than the Bucker but the aicraft does have an inverted in line engine.
What aircraft is this?

No definitely not a Tiger Moth. The rudder and fin are more rounded where I
would say the Tiger's is more elliptical. The engine cowling definitely seems
more Germanic than anything else. I suppose it could be a pre war Czech
design.

I haven't seen the movie yet but an online movie source states that
the director used "dollied up" Czech trainer aircraft, model aircraft,
and 3 real aircraft: two Spitfires (MK V/MK VIII) and a B-25 bomber.
The pre-war Czech trainers varied. Some were old Avia aircraft the
latter types being the Prahna E-39 and Be-52.
Again, I haven't seen the movie so I can't identify the aircraft. You
can, however, look up these aircraft and see if one matches.

p.s. The Germans of course used the Bucker Bu 131 Jungmann (Czech
C-104), Bucker Bu 181 Bestmann, and Arado Ar 96.
