Pilot's court martial may be delayed

(EXCERPT) Soccer injury could push trial date back weeks

A court hearing scheduled next week for Major Harry Schmidt could be
postponed because the U.S. fighter pilot broke his leg playing indoor
soccer.

Lawyers representing the 38-year-old airman, who faces a criminal
charge for dropping a bomb that killed four Canadian soldiers in
Afghanistan, asked for a delay Monday night after their client
suffered a broken fibula, a torn Achilles tendon and a ruptured
Plantaris tendon.

Maj. Schmidt -- a star goalkeeper during his years at the U.S. Naval
Academy -- is scheduled to undergo surgery in the coming days and he
is under doctor's orders to stay off his feet for at least two weeks
aft...
