But as the use of quotation marks and the word "sic" indicate, Patrick
was aware of that.

Quite so. Patrick can be a pain in the arse but you can't fault
him in matters of transport.

Credit where credit's due, I always say.

The word sic is Latin meaning "Written as quoted" or words to that
effect.

I am fully aware of the the aircraft types

It actually means "thus", implying "written thus in the original text" when
quoting.

Hi,

I flew out of CHC today and wondered what the 2 x C141s and 2 x C130s were
doing there. Presumed they may have been part of some Antarctic work.
Anyone know what they are doing in the area?

MK.

Probably the usual Summer resupply and general support.

It's the end of summer there, meaning all the summer people are flying
out, also supplies for the winter will be flown in before everything
freezes up.

Where have you been for all or part of the past 49 years?
The Antarctic programme has been at Harewood for this long.

The Herc's with skis are LC-130's.

Doesn't time fly when you're enjoying yourself?

I remember when the DC3s were flying from Wigram.

No I don't remember those lol.

I still have a couple of photos taken when I was a toddler at some
open day at Harewood with a Globemaster & a Neptune in the background.

I only ever flew out of Wigram on a CAA Fokker Friendship.
