Is there any info on the web where one can find which AF Tactical Fighter
units deployed to Florida for the Cuban Missile Crisis? I know the 4th TFW
with F-105s was at Patrick AFB, and there were F-100s at Homestead, but which
units? Also, the 12th and 15th TFWs wit F-84Fs were at McDill AFB. But who
else was at Eglin, Opa-Locka, McCoy, etc? TIA.

http://home.att.net/~g.rust/12/cuba.htm

is fairly complete. It's the Strike elements only, though - it
doesn't cover the Air Defence COmmand (Including Air National Guard)
assets which were either based in the area, or deployed to teh area
during the Crisis.

Thanks, Peter. And all of that was just for the first day! I read in Eyeball
to Eyeball that the USAF, Navy, and USMC would have flown a total of 1,190
strike sorties on Day 1.
