It is an Avenger pedestal mount, just like those you saw on the HMMWV's
earlier.

Just had a look at the picture (thanks to the library across the street).
It's defintely an Avenger, the same mount that was around the Pentagon. The
difference is probably just that this one isn't mounted on a honking big
truck, which changes the scale a bit.

I would imagine it might have some impact, either by distracting the pilot
or altering the trajectory a bit.
