Never, ever underestimate the stupidity of the human race. You only have
to read a few of the posts on here to see the truth in that. <BSEG>

THE INTERNATIONAL EVIDENCE

The U.S. is the most violent society in the industrialized world, and probably
the entire world as well. Although it doesn't have the most police per capita,
the U.S. does have the toughest laws and punishments by far. The question of
which came first, the chicken or the egg, is becoming much less relevant as time
passes; the U.S. has been following this "get tough" approach for decades, with
no significant reduction of its violent crime rate.

Man, why is it your ilk like to use $$$$$$$$ in every other word? Is that
your idea of creative writing?

Here are some other statistics for your amusement:

GDP (per capita)

Luxembourg $44,586
United States $35,935
Bermuda $34,396
San Marino $33,898
Cayman Islands $32,531
Switzerland $31,635
Norway $31,601
Belgium $28,963
Denmark $28,963
Canada $28,932

Ok, maybe there is something to your use of $$ since the United States is
extremely prosperous. Note most of the other countries you referenced don't
even make the top ten?
Liechtenstein ranks 28th.

Murder rates per 1000 people

Columbia 0.65
South Africa 0.5 (Grantland who I believe lives there says this is
understated)
Jamaica 0.33
Venezuela 0.33
Russia 0.2
Mexico 0.13
Lithuania 0.1
Estonia 0.1
Latvia 0.1
Belarus 0.1

The United States is ranked 23rd.

In total crime, the United States ranks below the UK, Denmark, Finland, and
New Zealand, among others. Not bad under the circumstances.

And the US is 30th (higher the better) in per capita taxes. Liechtenstein
is ranked 8th

To end on a positive note, the United States heads the list of average years
of schooling for adults. Move here from whatever third rate country you
currently reside in and you too might have the opportunity to develop some
reasoning skills!

Actually moron, it's you who need to provide factual evidence that; "many of
(prisoner in the US) whom are innocent, and/or have not been convicted of any
crime."

Actually, outside of Jose Pedilla (who will be charged soon according to DHS),
I'm just looking for one other US citizen you can name who is in a US prison
without being convicted of a crime or awaiting trial for a crime. Just one.
Fool.

Are you retarded? Another poster sent the story of a Taliban fighter born to
Saudi parents in Louisiana who, like Padilla, has been held without being
charged. That's *one*, where are you getting the other 346,999 from? Your

People charged and held until their day in court? No bail or can't
make bail?

"Naturally, the common people don't want war;
neither in Russia nor in England nor in America,
nor for that matter in Germany.
That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders
of the country who determine the policy and
it is always a simple matter to drag the people
along, whether it is a democracy or a fascist
dictatorship or a Parliament or a Communist
dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can
always be brought to the bidding of the leaders.
That is easy. All you have to do is tell them
they are being attacked and denounce the
pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing
the country to danger. It works the same way
in any country."

No, I already included those charged and awaiting trail and this genius said
there are 347,000 US citizens in prison who are innocent or have not been
covicted (and, according to him, not counting those awaiting trial,)

Right, him being an accomplished B-52 pilot, this must be relatively
speaking on your part.
Don't forget to let us know of your nobel nomination when it comes through.
