Some questions and suggestions.

Does your camera have an input for an external mic. Mine does (Canon HG10).
I use a condenser mic (tie-clip mic) and put it inside a Bose X headset that
I rubber band closed nice and tight and I plug the Bose X into the backseat
jack for sound only, I do not plug the Bose X mic cord in. I have to
disable the auto-shut-off so the Bose stays on else the ANR cuts off.

This gives a great quiet cockpit with clear communications heard with ATC
and the intercom.

How did you stabilize the camera? Did you use a tripod or just duct tape it
on the glareshield?

Do you use a wide-angle lens?

Why don't you take the prop balance sticker off? It's not necessary any
more and it keeps the viewer's eye from being distracted by the flashing
white square going by.

I don't know why your prop is so visible. Mine doesn't do this. It looks
in the video just as my eye sees it. Maybe your frame rate is too low? Can
you increase any settings to get a faster frame rate?

No, it's just a point and shoot Kodak Easy Share camera. Fits
perfectly in my shirt pocket.

Yeah, sometimes I wish I would do something like you describe above,
but I like monday night quarterbacking my flights and listening to the
power changes and watching the strobing gives me insight on my power
management for my landings. I would lose that if I decided to tie
into my COMS.

I put it on the glareshield, but it's right at the very front, "wedged
in" with one of those leather portolio diddies that I have some charts
and approach plates in it for "weight". The straight edge of the
portfolio doesn't follow the curve of the wind screen so the camera
fits nicely in the moon shape gap between the portolio and windscreen.
The portfolio doesn't move at all and obviously during turbulent
days, the camera is secondary and wouldn't be up there. I tried
velcro, but the camera still gets a slight vibration, so I improvised
with the portfolio.

No, what ever came with the Kodak Easy share. It has 4x zoom
capability, but not good for "being in the flare" The camera is about
5 years old and like a timex, takes a licking and keeps on ticking.

I was told not to remove it. The prop was balance to .01 gram when I
had it balanced about 3 years ago, so I leave it. I was operating the
throttle while the guy was there doing his jig, and was absolutely
fascinating to watch. It took 2 hours of adjusting and getting it
balanced at various RPMS.

Camera frame rate I believe is 30 fps and it doesn't have a frame rate
change in the menu options.

Tomorrow, keeping my fingers crossed, 600 foot ceilings so I will go
knock out some approaches. Just had avionics work done so need to put
it through it's paces. I ran it through it's paces on a VFR flight
but the only thing I didn't test was the glide slope, picked up a
localizer passing HKS on my way to Brookhaven, so I know I am good for
that and of course the VOR works nicely. GPS 430 good to go, just
have not done an ILS.

Had to get some shims. My audio panel wanted to slide out last week,
and I think the mount screw either broke or something sheared in the
back. So, I figure shim it on the top and bottom and I should be good
to go. I had a very bad experience with the shop and am doing
everything I can not to go back, but I sure won't pay another shop for
"warranty work" either.
