Maybe everyone's seen this a million times before, but I thought it
was pretty hairy.

I've seen that video as part of an advertisement, with a soccer team on
board, the "pilot" (commercial announcer) doing some announcement that
implies that the rough landing was due to the fact that the pilot is a
fan of an opposing soccer team, and wanted to give them a rough ride.

I'm pretty certain it's a fake.

I'm pretty certain it's a fake, made for that commercial. If nothing
else, the rate at which the nose bounces look unlikely given the masses
and moments of inertia of the aircraft, the spring rate of the nose
oleo, and the rate at which the tail could return the nose gear back to
the ground after a bounce.

It looked almost real until the bouncing started.

I agree. Lousy fake.
