Did the Vought F4U corsair have fabric covered wings?!?!?!?

On page 148 of "The Illustrated Fighting Aircraft of World War II" by Bill
Gunston (1988):

"Fabric-skinned wings became metal in the post-war -5"

I think the book mentioned may be in error, as (I believe?) they were
metalized before the end of the war.

Certainly, any examples flying today have all been metalized
(regardless of dash number).

The outboard (folding) sections were fabric covered thru the -4. The
leading edge was aluminum. The ailerons, rudder & elevators also were
fabric & I think they remained so even on the -5.
