Last month the FAI ratified 50 speed records B-1B 85-0068 set at the
Edwards AFB air show last year.
Half the records are for turbojet landplanes with takeoff weight
100,000 to 150,000 kg.
Speed over 100 km closed course with 0, 1000, 2000, 5000, 10000,
15000, 20000, 25000 kg payload: 1045.65 km/h.
500 km closed course with all the above payloads: 1036.71 km/h.
1000 km closed course with all the above payloads: 1016.20 km/h.
Straight 15/25 km course: 1300.47 km/h.
The other 25 records were set by a different crew flying the same
plane in the 150,000 to 200,000 kg weight class.
100 km closed course with all the above payloads: 1037.87 km/h.
500 km closed course with all the above payloads: 1123.63 km/h.
1000 km closed course with all the above payloads: 1105.68 km/h.
Straight 15/25 km course: 1333.90 km/h.
