What airline was Ernest K Gann flying for when he began to fly for the
army in Fate Is the Hunter?

Thanks!

Yes. IIRC, his flights during the War were also for American. Many
of the ATC routes were flown by teh airlines, using civilian crews
(Sort of like a flying Merchant Marine of MSTS). teh various routes
were assigned to Pan American, American Overseas Airways (A Division
of American, and who Gann flew for), and Trancontinental and Western
Airlines (TWA). After teh War, he flew for Matson, when Matson
started an airline service to Hawaii to complement their ocean liner
routes.

Thanks. I was going crazy, thumbing through the early chapters, never
finding a reference to his employer.
