View Full Version : Airshows should be banned...Now!

My view, too dangerous and too expensive just to thrill a bunch of
overweight weenies. Military airshows, in particular, should be
banned and I mean banned immediately.

How many people died or were injured last year in car crashes?
How many in air shows?

How many people died or were injured last year in swimming pools?
How many in air shows?

How many people died or were injured last year in soccer match brawls last
year?
How many in air shows?

Your opinion is worth what, exactly?

Quite a lot, since so many people including yourself, respond to me.
Automobile travel is a necessity for most, airshows, quite franky,
aren't. One death at an airshow is cause enough to cancel the whole
lot, in my view. What purpose do they serve other than thrill a bunch
of overweight loons with poor social skills and short attention spans
like.....well, you, for instance.

How perceptive of you that you can determine my weigh and attention span
from a short usenet post.

That's the great thing about society. You can have your opinion. Doesn't
make it a *good* opinion, but there it is.

Good thing the choice isn't yours. I have been to a number of airshows over my
life span and weight isn't an issue. It is obvious you just want to stir up
trouble, please do it elsewhere.

Using that logic, and ignoring your character assasinations, pleasure boating,
theme parks, bicycle racing, camping..and almost all forms of out door
recreation/entertainment should be banned isnce people have died or suffered
severe injury in all of them.

I now relegate you to the island of lost causes and wannabes along with tarver,
maron, vox etc.

Pete; You are attempting to make a rational response to an obvious
troll-post. Self-abuse would be a far better use of your time.

Overweight weenies, eh? I take it you've never been to one...? Other than
troll, what do you do for excitement?

And I suppose you are against the draft?

Kill the airshows and 'volunteer enlistments' will DEFINITELY take a
nosedive!

Besides- the statistics do not support your opinion. It's safer to watch the
airshow than it is to drive to and from.

Air shows are dangerous and bad for the natural environment, a lot of
kerosene is burned.

Also, at a time when owning a civilian Hummer virtually makes you an oil
and pollution nazi in public opinion, not only citizens, but the
military should scale back its consumption of fossil fuel.

Why? For expressing an opinion that differs from yours? You make me wonder who
the loser really is.

Well I'd start with taking a look in the mirror. You're obviously not
too bright if you can't recognize a troll for what it is.

How very clever you are. I no longer have to wonder who the loser is since I
know it's not me and you've eliminated all doubt regarding his identity. The
rest of us would ignore a troll and not bother responding, but you, of course
felt obliged to toss your insult out there. Well, we can't protect you from
yourself, can we!

I agree, nuclear power all the way. Actually what they burn is a drop
in the bucket. I'll tell you what, why don't you do you part and
shutdown all your utilities. Yeah, that's about what I thought. At
least the military is serving a purpose other than your own personal
convenience. Airshows are PR. PR gets recruits. Recruits allow you
to waste time looking down your nose from on high and consider things
other than basic survival.

Actually, the air about 500 yards back from the 747 is probably fairly
clean, which is where you'll land after the engines power up. :)
