Bush AWOL from the Guard -- Best Yet by
WalterM140
"President Bush claims that in the fall of 1972, he fulfilled his Air
National Guard duties at a base in Alabama. But Bob Mintz was there -
and he is sure Mr. Bush wasn't.
Plenty of other officers have said they also don't recall that Mr.
Bush ever showed up for drills at the base. What's...

Blue Angels Show by
ramrod48
The Blue Angels are in St. Louis this weekend. Having seen several
shows in past years, I'm surprised that they've flown only the "low
show" here this year. Initially, I thought that perhaps the ceilings
were marginal, but yesterday's weather was perfect. The only reasons
I can think of: (a)...

GREAT AVIATION READS by
Cribsheet
Ran across two great aviation books on http://www.amazon.com that may be of
interest. One is entitled THE LAST FLIGHT OF THE BLUE GOOSE. It`s about B-24
bomber that simply disappeared from Fort Myers Army Air Base, Florida in 1942.
In 1977, after the death of a former Luftwaffe pilot a bizarre...

F/A-22 IRST? by
Mike Zaharis
In a white paper from the Lexington Institute, it is claimed (most
likely by Loren Thompson, the Lexingtin Institute defense analyst and
resident Raptor cheerleader) that the F/A-22 has an Infrared Search
and Track capability. Specifically, on page 8 of the attachment
below, the following...

Dog Fight For the Presidency by
WalterM140
Only in an election year ruled by fiction could a sissy who used
Daddy's connections to escape Vietnam turn an actual war hero into a
girlie-man.
As we leave the scripted conventions behind us, that is the
uber-scenario that has locked into place, brilliantly engineered by
the president of the...

Ki-45 at Garber by
old hoodoo
I can't seem to find any confirmation, either way, on whether
the Ki-45 at Garber is a complete aircraft or just the fuselage
missing tail section and wings/engines. The fuselage appears
to be in great shape and has been photo'd several times, but
fuselage only.

Read This Carefully please; word for word by
Dudley Henriques
I recently posted a strong objection to a photographer pushing crash
videos on the newsgroups. I've pasted in below word for word the exact
quoted text of a post below addressed to me personally. Aside from the
personal comment the photographer makes to me, which is fine, and fully
within his right...

Inventor of "Window" dies by
[email protected]
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the death this week of Fred L
Whipple, reportedly the inventor of "Window" (aluminum strips cut to a
length designed to confuse radar).
Indirectly, he probably saved a good number of lives in WWII.

Aliens Have Landed in Russia, too by

Remember years ago when some dreamers spouted the idea that we needed
Aliens to land so that warring nations would have to unite against a
common enemy? As usual, we should be more careful what we wish for.
