Hot shot pilots are scum! by
Labia Veteran
If I ever meet a hotshot pilot in real life they would not walk away from
the experience. I keep a bayonnet around for idiots like that who bomb
innocent people for their own egos.
Except for the lower halfs of the hot black ones.

Handing out propaganda by
Lou
Does anyone have a suggestion on what material to hand out to
someone questioning me about flying? I'm not saying it happens
often, but while I'm working in my garage on my homebuilt someone
wanders in and asks questions about flying and building.
I'm not much of an explainer so I thought it...

Two density altitude inputs. by
Danny Deger
Look at the link for a picture of my manual aviation computer. It has two
different places to put in pressure altitude and temp to get density
altitude and convert airspeeds. Can anyone explain the correct use of these
two similar functions?

My Airplane Is No Longer Available!! by
NW_Pilot
Since all I get now is flakes that don't want to even split 1/2 the fuel on
a flight together and do not want to help with General Maint when using MY
plane for their solo personal use and leave the tanks near empty when they
park it I regret to inform all that the ride share in my plane is no...

A new survey shows customer satisfaction with the airline

ATC assigned altitude? by
Tina
It used to be that when we were assigned an en route altitude we held
it, plus or minus a needle width or so -- husbands trained as
engineers are apt to be a little compulsive about things like that.
Well, we had a long discussion with another pilot who had different
advice. He suggested, since we...

Maintaining altitude by
Mxsmanic
Is it better (in a small GA aircraft) to maintain altitude using minor changes
in pitch and trim alone, or using both pitch/trim and throttle adjustments?
I'm asking just about maintaining altitude once there, not climbing or
descending to an altitude.

Cindy McCain Pilot? by
Larry Dighera
Last night on The Tonight Show, Cindy McCain mentioned that she would
be doing a lot of flying as part of husband John McCain's 1982
Congressional campaign, so she attended flight ground school in an
attempt to overcome her fear of flying. She said she then received
flight training, and earned her...

Looking at an old Ercoupe today... by
Jay Honeck[_2_]
So three (of our original six) members are continuing down the road to
finding an old, LSA-compliant airplane. The other three dropped out
because they didn't like the notion of a "family membership" that would
allow multiple pilots on a single club membership. (Not surprisingly, those
were...

Parasite Drag? by
Ol Shy & Bashful
Anyone here seen that picture of the Beech 18 with 13 jumpers outside
hanging on or sitting on top of the fuselage? They started out at
14,500' and when they were all outside, the flight continued for at
least a minute and a half while the photos were taken.
I was prompted to post this in response...

Can a person take pictures of properties from a private airplane and
charge for doing it?
What kind of license or permits do they need to do this?

Portable intercom repair - where? by
john
I have a Pilot Avionics PA400-3BL that needs to have the cable
replaced. Anyone have a suggestion on where to buy a replacement
cable or where to send it for repairs? Unless I overlooked it, their
website doesn't list any replacement parts or a repair service.
Thanks,
John

crosswind correction...hangars by
gatt[_3_]
Here's a learning opportunity involving the effects of hangars on
crosswind correction, as well as soft-field operations. I used to rent
this aircraft and noticed that it disappeared from the flight line last
summer.
