injected planes, no more owner oil changes, contact AOPA by Robert M. Gary
AD 2008-06-51 prohibits injected (mostly Lycoming) aircraft owners from changing their own oil (really makes the plane unairworthy after an oil change until you get an A&P sign off). Talking to AOPA about this I really don't get the impression that they think this is very important. I would...

"Engineer's clearance received" by Mxsmanic
What does "Engineer's clearance received" mean in a preflight checklist for a commercial airliner? This is in a 737, which doesn't have a flight engineer, so I don't know what it's supposed to cover. -- Transpose mxsmanic and gmail to reach me by e-mail.

ATC by Mike Gilmour[_2_]
Listening to Boston ATC at various times the Tower controller asks a flight if they 'have got their numbers" (?) or a flight will say they're not ready to proceed because they "don't have their numbers". What does this mean as it doesnt translate here in the UK? TIA

Airworthness Reference by Dan[_10_]
Help! I'm looking for the reference that IAs use to determine if an airplane is airworthy despite missing a cowling screw, having wing tip cracks, or a missing piece of carpeting. And no, it's not the a/c maintenance manual. I've searched the FAA site, Google, GPO, etc.

Pressure system over oceanic regions by Andrew Sarangan
Looking at the worldwide surface analysis chart, it looks like land areas have far more pressure variations than oceans. However, I am not sure if this is a real effect or simply an artifact of the fact that there aren't many observation stations on the oceans. Any thoughts? Here is an...
