SpaceShip One Pictures and Video by
Alright, it took me a week to finally get through my pictures and video, but
they're now available online. Hopefully they're worth looking at.
Video includes taxi out, take off, launch, and landing. They're 640x480,
with DivX/Mp3 compression. Images vary. Lots of nice morning...

Which airport for University of Pittsburgh? by

It's college tour time for my step-daughter. Is KPIT the best airport to
land at for University of Pittsburgh?

We (and Iowa City) got a really nice write up by Fly Guide's Nick Selby
today in AOPA!
For AOPA members (and who, here, isn't?) see

For non-AOPA members (and you know who you are!), see a mirror of the

Homebrew Palm OS E6-B by
John Bell
I was just dropping someone a line on Palm programs. There are a couple of
nice programs for Palm OS that allow you to program aviation formulas.
I have recently gone back to using a Palm OS (Sony Clie T27) organizer
rather than a Pocket PC. Being less expensive and smaller, I am more likely
to...

CSC DUATS Golden Eagle FlightPrep® by
Larry Dighera
The clunky old Cirrus Software for use with DUATS is being replaced
with a new program that looks like a terrific improvement. I haven't
had a chance to try it yet, but it's got to be better than Cirrus.
Here's the information to obtain a free copy:

Is AWC an approved weather source? by
Andrew Sarangan
There used to be a disclaimer in aviationweather.gov that it was not an
approved source. But I can't find that disclaimer anymore. Has AWC become
an approved source? I recall an AC that was issued some time ago that
authorized certain internet based weather to be considered official.

aero-domains for pilots by
secura
It is not well known, that all kinds of pilots can get
aero-domains. If they have an own website or send a document, they can
get a domain name at .aero and at the official subdomains pilot.aero,
which has been established by SITA.
In the future, everybody, who is interested, in flying,...

small prop plane vs helicopter crash statistics by
Gregory Lee
I am wondering where I can find fatal crash statistics for small light
single or double prop engine aircraft vs. Helicopter crash statistics?
Eg. Cessna Skyplane vs. Bell 206 Jetranger/Robinson
Perhaps comparing number of deaths per year to total hours flown, or
number of flights.
I'd like to...

Boeing Niner Zero Niner AwwwYEAH! by

Today shooting ILS approaches at McMinnville, with the blinder on, I had a
close encounter. There was a lot of chatter and people stepping on each
other, but I heard one aircraft rumbling calling out over McMinnville
looking for the traffic on approach (me). Didn't catch his call numbers.
A few...

Hello,
I am thinking of buying myself a good ANR headset. Does anyone have any

Is anyone happy with them (Lightspeed in general)? Or should I look at
