David,

The links are the navigation at the top of the page. However, per your
request I've pasted the complete URL: http://www.wren-turbines.com/news.htm

Thanks that is an awesome model. I know the site where they fly, I have
been to occasional meets there - but not for some time.

I did mange to see one video and the first take off was obviously from a
full sized airfield. The taxi did seem to be at the model airfield,
which does have a tarmac runway.

Some of you may remember a specialty RC manufacturer named "Byron
Originals?"

They brought out some of the first (and finest) large/very large ducted fan
jets (F16/F15) and some fabulous warbirds as well.

They once built a demonstrator model of a B29 with, IIRC, a 30' wingspan
which weighed in excess of 400lbs.

It flew on 4 100cc engines and needed 3 people to control it:

1 for primary flight surfaces
1 for engine management
1 for "bells and whistles" (retracts, bomb bay, etc...)

I have videotape of it being flown at one of the last "fly ins" that Byron's
hosted prior to their going out of business a few years ago.

FWIW...

This site says 500 pounds--with at least two crashes:

Thanks for clarifying.
