Announcing WINNER of "Can you help Identify this airport" contest! by
Video Guy
Thanks to all who took the time to look at my "mystery" airport photo.
Seems the only mystery was on my end. It took less than 12 hours from
posting for Paul Sisson of Litchfield Aerobatic Club to send in the
correct answer.
At least it's the correct answer in the opinion of several who...

The Mustang Suite is done! by
Jay Honeck
***CAUTION -- SHAMELESS PLUG WARNING ***
I've been promising this one for six months -- and we have finally finished
the Mustang Suite!
We took our most popular suite (it's popular because it's our smallest,
cheapest Jacuzzi suite) and loaded it up with new wall paper border,
carpeting, window...

Calibrating temperature probes by
Casey Wilson
Background first: Two significant points exist for calibrating a
temperature probe or thermometer without comparing it to a known probe or
thermometer -- freezing and boiling points of water. For the freezing
point, one mixes up a slush of ice and water, the probe should read zero
degrees...

Warrior Down in Danbury, CT by
Tom Fleischman
I flew in to Danbury yesterday morning and had to hold for 15 minutes
because the field was closed due to "an incident". After landing I
found out from my A&P that a Warrior had lost power on takeoff and spun
in when the pilot attempted to return to the field. A witness I spoke
with described the...

Can You Name an "Aircraft-Accessible" Aviation Museum? by
Jay Honeck
In another post about the fabulous new Udvar-Hazy Center (part of the
National Air & Space Museum), frustration with not being able to fly into
this terrific new facility was evident. I personally find it appallingly
ironic that museums which purport to glorify flight are not accessible...

Bonanza V35B partnership opportunity by
Peter R.
I have been contacted by the manager of our local flight school about the
opportunity to partner with an owner of a Bonanza V35B. Apparently, the
owner is looking to purchase a helicopter and would like to ensure the V35
sees regular flying as well as offset some of the costs of the aircraft.
His...

Books by
G.R. Patterson III
Ok, guys, last year was the centennial of flight. All the publishing companies
made new print runs of old books and released a few new ones. Now that we're into
the new year, these are hitting the remainders outlets. Here's a sample.

Can you help identify this airport? by
Video Guy
Hello
My family has an aerial photograph of an airport we need help to identify.
It was taken by my late father-in-law sometime in the 1960's. At least that
's our guess. Could be a little later; and maybe even a bit earlier; we
just aren't sure.

Any sailplane pilots? by
Chuck
My cousin just bought a Schweizer 1 36 sailplane.
We took it to the airport today where he is going to hanger it today, and
put her together so the FAA could give the stamp of approval with the
airworthiness certificate.
Looks like the sailplane could be alot of fun.
I have never been around...
