Prop noise vs. engine noise by
Morgans
A colleague and I were discussing a plane that has been practicing
aerobatics near his house, and all the noise it was making. I started into
telling him how the prop was making most of the noise, and he seemed to
think I was crazy for thinking that.
I think I will have to show him something...

I knew this already but did it anyway by
Maule Driver
It's difficult to fly when you gotta take a leak. So always carry a relief device and use it when you have to.
It was only a 1:15 night flight over a well known route into a very familiar airport (14A) Forecast was for clear skies but we ran thru a beautiful line of flurries where visibility...

Recording your flight time by
Jay Honeck
With built-in flight timers becoming the norm in virtually all new avionics
(heck, even the new transponder I'm getting has one), just wondering if
folks are migrating away from using hobbs/tach time to record their flight
time?
And if you *are* using the flight timer, have you stopped using the...

FFZ - Arizona by
Ardna
In a recent local Arizona flying publication, I remember reading that the
tower at Falcon Field (FFZ) in Mesa Arizona was starting an email
newsletter, in order to better disseminate information like their 'Charlie
Test' procedure, rather than rely on word of mouth.
The problem is the article...

A connie is a fun little airplane by
Douglas Eagleson
If there is a problem with Connies
and the quality of my flying somebody needs to
ask the passenger called my friend why everybody
is along for the ride.
My friend has a slight real turbine shaft, getting
sucked into problem.
He never complains. I want to know why my brother and I
can't be...

Will Wright - Pilot? by
Guy Elden Jr.
I just read an interview with Will Wright, creator of the games SimCity, The
Sims, and others. The last bit of the article was quite intriguing:
GS: Will, have you ever been in a small plane?
WW: Yes... well, I used to have a pilot's license.
Not quite the answer I would have expected any pilot...

What's on YOUR Christmas list? by
Jay Honeck
Ho, ho, ho....!
Me, I'm asking Santa for a new, solid-state transponder -- which is about as
dull as socks & underwear, but the third digit on mine keeps going wacky
once in while. I *hate* it when ATC thinks I've set my squawk code
wrong...
What are you hoping to find in YOUR stocking on...

This happened in Houston years ago - maybe 6 or 7. Curious about what any airline people think of this.
