RFI in NW Arkansas by
Ross Richardson
I am looking for pilots in the Fayetteville, AR area to monitor approach
on 120.9 and listen for any unusual sounds. I am hearing a pinging about
every 57 seconds. It occurred on two separate trips about a month apart.
I am helping the FAA out of Ft Worth, Texas. They are aware of this from
prior...

Radio license required? by
Marty Ross
When I first learned the memory aid for required documents, it was "ARROW".
When I inquired why sometimes I saw "AROW", I remember being told that the
second "R" was dropped because while flying within the USA you don't need
the "Radio License".
I glanced through the FAR/AIM and couldn't quickly...

karmic rebound by

Sunday turned out to be a great flying day. A new friend with a
Cardinal decided he wanted to experience the complexities of crossing
the border into Canada and flying in the bilingual environment of
Montreal Terminal airspace.
He, his wife, and I were wheels up around 9:30, cleared customs...

Which rating would be more helpful? by
Jeffrey LLoyd
Hello. I'm a 700 hour commercial/single-engine land/instrument pilot.
I'm also 39 years old. I would like to fly a bit
'semi-professionally'; i.e. part-time right-seat for a corporate gig,
ferry jobs etc. I have no illusions about flying for Delta. My wife
and I are expecting another child in a few...

Airplane that crashed in Lake Ontario yet to be raised by

Toronto police and the aircraft's US insurance company are squabbling
over who should be responsible for raising a twin Beech that crashed
into the lake on the 7th of July. It was on a flight from Chicago to
Toronto Island airport, when it disappeared in heavy fog just short of
the airport. The...

USS Ronald Reagan Question by
Jay Honeck
Someone has posted some cool pix from the launch of the new super carrier
over on the binary channel (alt.binaries.pictures.aviation), which got me
wondering...
Is the new USS Ronald Reagan a *replacement* carrier? If so, which one is
being retired?
Or did we just add another battle group to the...
