Anyone install the EI FP5L? by
Doug Vetter
All,
I'm thinking of replacing a pesky fuel pressure gauge with the
Electronics International FP5L.
http://www.buy-ei.com/New_FP-5_&_FP-5L_Fuel_Flow_Information.htm
We need a "primary" gauge and the FP5L is STC'd for our application.
Has anyone installed one of these, particularly on an...

Color Me Annoyed by
Denny
Well, my 2007 annual condition inspection ends tomorrow... Yee Old
Crusty Mechanic has been increasingly hard to contact for the past two
months and now has disconnected his phone, his airplanes are gone, and
his hangar has been sold... I'm beginning to suspect that he does not

Pondering G430W upgrade... by
Doug Vetter
All,
I'm still on the fence about doing the 430W upgrade. Money is tight as
always and I certainly haven't set the logbook on fire in the last couple
of years for various reasons. The upgrade is scheduled for late May and
I have the option of bailing on it without penalty, but at 50% off...

Buying an LSA: Zodiac XLi vs. Tecnam Sierra by
Jay Maynard
Since I'm now convinced I can fly the Zodiac given sufficient time and
practice, I can now make a decision as to which aircraft I want to purchase.
I haven't flown the Sierra. I did fly a Bravo last week, and the comments
I've gotten lead me to believe that the Sierra flies just about the same.
I'm...

Thinking about buying a Zodiac XLi by
Jay Maynard
After years away from it, I'm in a position where I can think about getting
an airplane. I want to be able to travel with it, not just fly around the
patch. I'm a PP-ASEL with about 170 hours in 172/Warrior/Tiger-class
aircraft. I'd love to build, but my work has me away from home constantly,
so...

This should apply to airframe manufacturers too by
Ray Andraka
From CNN:
The U.S. Supreme Court, in an 8-1 ruling Wednesday, said federal
medical-device regulations prevent patients from bringing state
product-liability lawsuits unless a medical-device company violated U.S.
Food and Drug Administration regulations.
"This decision shows that the extensive...

Give Lucky Jack a ride to Phoenix by

Don't know if anyone who reads this NG could help, but I thought this
contained the proper amount of "aviation-related" content as to be
acceptable on the group. Apologies if I am wrong.
Thank you,

Rent vs. Own by
Frank[_11_]
Since this is an aircraft owners newsgroup, that means it's the perfect place to ask about the costs associated with owning an airplane vs. renting.
Since I haven't started my private pilot lessons, I'm not familiar with all of the expenses associated with owning an aircraft. I have listed below...

When to replace a prop? by
Jay Honeck[_2_]
Our Macauley prop was last overhauled (new blades) in 1991. It was
re-sealed and checked by a prop shop in 1997.
It has approximately 2400 hours on it. It's still in spec, doesn't leak,
works fine. Our A&P owned a prop shop in the 1990s, and is very
knowledgeable about these things -- but...

good A&P & avionics rec's in/between Houston & Austin by

Since I live 60 miles west of d/t Houston anywhere really between Austin and
Houston (and 75 miles North/South of that corridor) would qualify.
I am finding a lot of...

I have a sticky main strut in my Pa-28-151. My engineer has suggested
changing the o-rings and valves of both struts. I was curious about the
whole structure and have looked everywhere in the internet with no luck Any
suggestions where I could find them?

detailled and effective...
