Day of purchase contract? by
Dico
Hello all,
Is there such a thing as a "day of purchase" contract? We've done a
title/lien search and all, but it'll be a couple weeks til the sale
actually happens. In that time a purchaser could put a new lien on the
plane. What do you do to protect yourself against this? Is there some
sort...

Moving a C172 to Australia from California by
argon39
After 30 years of fun and excitement in the SF Bay area, I've taken a
new job in Perth, Western Australia. Now I need to decide what to do
about my iBugsmasher, a wonderful 1969 C172K that I have modified so
that it's just the way I want it:
C172K, 2050 hours on airframe
New Garmin IFR panel

NTSB decision rules that SB's are manadatory... by
Dave S
http://www.avweb.com/eletter/archives/bizav/652-full.html#192405
The FAA dinged an A&P for not complying with a "mandatory" SB prior to
returning an aircraft to service in a part 91 environment. The NTSB
upheld it, breaking with decades of precedent.

The display window for the KY197 Com consists of two pieces of
plastic. The front piece is clear with just three labels on it. "use,
standby, and comm". The back piece is of a light amber color and
matches the front piece for shape and has a black mask to hide
everything behind the window except...

Price Drop on Garmin 396 - $2195 by
[email protected]
Just went in to the avionics shop today to check on the installation
work they are doing (SL-40 COM, PS-4000 intercom/panel, & G396 wired to
both). Turns out that Garmin just cut the price $300 on the 396 so its
now at $2195.
Anyway, if anyone has been out there waiting, looks like Garmin...

Turbo question by
soxinbox
I have a piper turbo arrow with a TSIO-360-FB engine. It has the original
waste gate on the turbo, and an after market turbo plus intercooler.
I recently made a long trip, and got the plane up to 14000 for the first
time in a long time. I was having trouble keeping the exhaust temp down. I
had the...

Avionics questions by
Robert M. Gary
How is the squelch adusted on a KX-155? Is there is mini-screw hole in
the face that I'm not seeing?
What screw driver do I need to adjust my King OBS head feed by my
MX-170B? I think its some sort of spline driver.

Garmin 195...295...296...396.... by
[email protected]
Still flying with the 195 on my yolk and that was $ well spent years
ago but would like to upgrade. Anyone hear anything about what's coming
down the pike next? Seems about 2 year intervals for these portables.
Thanks for any info.

Need King A/P manual by
Roy Smith
Does anybody know where I can find a manual for the King KFC-200 as a PDF?
Google only shows some places where I can buy a paper copy.
I'm still trying to figure out what fried chicken has to do with flying
airplanes.

Time to replace the KNS-80 by
Roger
Well it looks like it's about time to replace the old KNS-80 RNAV.
That thing has had a lot of use, it's getting old, and it's been in
the shop a number of times.
Currently the frequency selector appears to need cleaning, but I'm not
sure how long it has left.
So, I'm looking into a certified GPS...

Which airplane for LSA club? by
[email protected]
Hey folks,
I'm starting a flying club with a Light-Sport Aircraft and I can't
decide what type of plane to buy. (I'm going to buy and then sell the
shares. Doing it the other way around seems to lead to nothing but talk
and procrastination.)
I, personally, have become infatuated with light...

Need trip adivce. KEWK to KBGR by

Hello all,
I'm planning a trip from Newton, KS to Bangor, ME. We'll be flying a

I'm looking for advice on airports to stop at, fuel up and get a bite
to eat. Ideally we'd stay away from the big centres and inexpensive
fuel would be a...

Used C152 Prices out of this world. by
FLAV8R
Looking through the ASO.com listings recently I have seen C-152 in 60-70,000
range. Is this a typo or has the world gone crazy. Since when is a 152 worth
more than lets say 20k?

Headset to mp3 Adapter by
[email protected]
I bought one of those "Y" adapters so I could play my iPod thru my
stereo headset. Your headset plug goes in 1 end, and then it branches
off to a standard headset plug for the intercom and a "mini" plug for
the iPod. The problem is that the plane's radio volume drops to barely
audible, even with...

So, I spoke to the Honeywell guy at the AOPA fly-in today and asked
abou the long-awaited WAAS replacement for the KLN-94. If you remember,
last year they were saying that they'd got the GPS engine done, and
were looking how to productize it. They even sent round a questionaire
to figure out if...
