First Glider LS4 by
Jeff Runciman
Thank you again for your advise. Any more thoughts
on the LS4? Any concerns with the age? What should
I pay for one? And are there any flying groups for
the LS4? Thank you again and I hope I can contribute
to the group as I go along.
Jeff

Great news for Cambridge GPS-NAV owners! by
Paul Remde
Hi,
The IGC had stated that they were going to downgrade the IGC approval for
the Cambridge GPS-NAV flight recorder, but now they have changed their
minds! The GPS-NAV will (for the foreseeable future) remain approved for
validation of all flights including world records.
Details can be found in...

Suicides with CFIG on board by
Mark James Boyd
Someone asked me about "uncooperative passengers."
As I learned it, if it's a temporary thing
(student during spin training holding the yoke
back in terror) then hand over his mouth and pinch his
nose. You'll get an uncontrolled release as he
reaches up.
For more determined "uncooperativeness,"...

First Glider by
Jeff Runciman
Hi guys,
Thank you so much for your insights and advise. There
is a local pilot that has an LS4, a little bit of crazing
of the fiberglass. He hasn't flown in about 10 years.
I am also looking at a brand new 15 meter SZD51-1 Junior.
I know they are not quite in the same class but I
am a little...

Goal - Racing Sailplanes Article in Air and Space Magazine by
Snead1
I have written a 3600 word article on the subject of Racing Sailplanes. The
intended audience for this article is pilots who do not fly sailplanes and/or
the general public. It is my goal to have the article published in "Air and
Space Magazine" or a similar publication. Alternatively, the...

HP iPAQ hx4705 Pocket PC by
Limus A.
Has anyone tried iPAQ hx4705 yet ? It's got 624MHz processor, that
should make moving map a lot smoother I think.
There is also Dell Axim X30 624MHz Handheld, I recently saw a deal
where it was selling for $267 new on Dell.com. But it looks like it
does not have serial interface.

Performance World Class design proposal by
iPilot
I do not think that soaring community to trash current World Class. There are some gliders out there
at least and there are competitions. And PW-5 seems to be a perfect glider for beginning pilots in
clubs.
But I still believe that although the idea of the monoclass is very good, the problem is...

Dual Tires on Libelle 201b by
Ray Lovinggood
The September 2004 issue of 'SOARING' magazine has
photos of the Libelle 201b flown by American Tim McAllister
in the Third Club Class World Gliding Championships
and this slighty tweaked Libelle looks a bit different.
1. It has winglets, and
2. It has dual tires, like the ASW-22!
It probably...

VentusB retro Tailtank information by
Stewart Kissel
Does anyone know if this was a 'standard' retrofit?
The rubber bellows in my tank is shot...and I have
no idea where to find a replacement. My ship has no
record when the tank was added, the install appears
to be quite clean. The bellows has a 90 degree turn
in it from the tank to the dump valve....
