An Historical Perspective on the Wright Accomplishment by
Gary Osoba

accorded the
Wright Brothers’ accomplishments a century ago, a question

develop a
balanced historical perspective of this achievement?

the buzz by
John Shelton
The buzz is that SpaceShipOne shoots tomorrow.
I'm going to be freezing my ass off out there with my binoculars. I missed
the Wright Bros. I missed Jimmy Doolittle doing the outside loop. I missed
Yeager breaking Mach One. I missed Armstrong walking on the moon. I missed
the Voyager flying around...

LX5000 upgrade from 6.12 to 9.xx by
Marc Teugels
Hi,
i just sold my LX20 and am in the process of making my LX5000 FAI capable. An
option is to upgrade it to version 9.xx.
Both options are expensive , about 750 euro together.
This V9.xx allows to couple the device fully with winpilot.
Any experience around with 9.xx ?

Mark James Boyd
Today I called my three local TV stations and asked/suggested
they edit a clip of the Wright Flyer on tonight's news.
Getting the Wright Flyer IN the air is one accomplishment.
Encouraging young people to be interested in flying requires
getting the Wright Flyer ON the air.
If you want to help...

Glider weight by
Miguel Lavalle
I am in the process of buying my first glider. I have
been looking on a few. Should I expect the current
owner to have document signed by a FAA inspector (or
someone similar) stating the weight of the glider?
How do I know the weight is what the owner is telling
me?

VNE and the "coffin corner"? by
Jim
Still thinking about VNE and whether it is usually stated as a TAS
rather than an IAS (one must read the POH to be sure, of course).
I've gotten the notion, probably from comments I've not understood
very well, that the "coffin corner" is the intersection of stall speed
as an IAS indication on the...
