Strong enterprises by
tango4
Anyone know how to get hold of Strong Enterprises?
Their number is an 800 one so it doesn't work when dialing from the UK.
Their eMail server bounces addresses quoted on their site and their online
shop won't let me build a 'chute properley ( colours, canopy size, longer
straps ).
They may make...

Refinishing gelcoat by
tango4
It struck me the other day that the materials used to cover R/C models these
days could be used to 'refinish' ships on which the gelcoat had
deteriorated. We are already 'happy' to stick .5m wide pieces of orange tape
to the surfaces of gliders and do so with impunity.
Solarfilm ( a trade name ) ...

TCAD Installations in Gliders? by
Jim Kellett
Just curious - anyone ever heard of a US glider with a TCAD (such as Ryan's
8800 Gold) installed? Love to get a "user's report" if so . . .

radio / vario interference - HELP! by
Chris Davison
A problem with interference, all advice welcome.
..radio by itself works fine...but when I turn the
vario on I get huge amounts of noise (even some with
Squelch ON). Radio is a Dittel FSG50, vario is Cambridge
302/303.
Where do I start looking?

Is that fire producing a nice thermal out there? It is a tragic event, but
why not make some use of it?

Never dull moment. by
Lord Struthers
The L-19's engine quit on tow, till Elmer switched tanks,( ground checked okay,
where have I heard that before) then JT had a rope break, (same tow) with south
east winds, what convergence there was, was over the ocean. With three new
jugs (seems the old new ones had the oil temp limits exceeded)...

NMAC/Proximity Anecdotes? by
Jim Kellett
For inclusion as examples in various local safety seminars, I've started
collecting credible anecdotal reports of NMACs (loosely defined) between
gliders and other aircraft. I'm particularly interested in incidents or
near-incidents with airliners or other "heavies". I have four such
anecdotes...

Clarification - Does everyone teach this way? by
Dancebert
I looked at my original post and saw ample room for misinterpretation
because of what I left out and how poorly I explained that which I did
include. I'd like to clarify two points.
The first is that I wasn't criticizing any of the instructors. I was
expressing frustation at what I assumed to be...

Looking for an L-23 tailwheel by
Alex Zobell
My club is in a bit of a bind right now. Our tailwheel for our Super
Blanik is falling apart. We need a new one, but Blanik quoted us $200
for a replacement. It's the tailwheel that goes with the free
castoring fork. I was curious if anybody knew of any wrecked L-23's
out there that might have...

USA: Experimental Certificates by
C.Fleming
Do new gliders delivered to USA customers have Experimental Certificates?
If so, why? If not, why do most second-hand gliders have Experimental
Certificates?
Please reference any replies.
Thanks!
