USA Uvalde 18 Meter Nationals 2nd day 8/2/17........oh boy by
Tom Kelley #711
Some folks came home early, other folks somehow got around and home, then their are the "others". Simply said, it went KA BOOM big time. A 3:30 one turn MAT and the first turn(#39 west of Uvalde) was hard for some, maybe easy for others.
Myself, I came home early as a 10 mile safety finish was...

USA 18 Meter Sailplane National Championships Day 1 8/01/2017. by
Tom Kelley #711
Pilot's meeting started 10 am. Mark, our CD, and Kerry, our CM, simply know how to put on a show. Brief, to the point and excellent side shows for weather, griding, and taxiway/ tow out use, etc. The weather, well some of the models are good, others need to be trashed. A lot of conflicting...

Seminole Lake Gliderport by
Shane Guy
We have a holiday home just 11 miles by the GPS from
Seminole Lake.
We do not advertise it to rent commercially in the
UK but it is available to glider pilots (and power
pilots exploring the wonders of flying in Florida)
when we are not there.
Always pleased to supply details to anyone who is...

SAFE Winch Launching by
Derek Copeland[_2_]
To all my friends in the United States of America.
You may have got the impression from some recent correspondence on this

winch...

Hi
I am looking for a text on total energy, netto and relative netto.
Specifically on why use one in particular in climb or cruise on my vario?
Which setting gives a better picture of the condition you are in?
Thank you
Gilles

glider aerobatics by
150flivver
Question concerning aerobatics in glider category. We have 2 Grob 103s, a 103A Twin II and a 103C Twin III Acro. The Airworthiness Certificate for the first just says Standard Category Glider while the AC for the Twin III Acro says Standard Category glider, Aerobatic.
Now the question. The Twin...

Vicarious Icarus
Hi,
