General Questions (Trailer/Trailering) by
Casey Cox
Good Morning All,
I some general questions. I ask club members and value their answers but I like having multiple points of view for I've found that different parts of the country have somewhat different ways of doing things.
1) on older glider in wood bottom trailers, does anyone tie the boom...

Trailer Vent Fan by
JJ Sinclair[_2_]
I just checked two trailer vent fans and both were dead. With a little checking I found one had a dead battery and the other had a bad motor. They are both made by NICR and are day/night fans which employ a battery that charges all day, so it can run all night. Why did the battery go dead? I...

Glider Import by
NZAviator
Hi,
I was wondering if anybody has had experience exporting a glider out of Germany or Hungry and whether I am able to recover any VAT from the purchase price. As it stands the cost of these gliders seems to be a little high so wondered if there is something I am missing with tax recovery etc?

Anyone have access to a Haig Minibat? by
[email protected]
As an active radio controlled scale sailplane enthusiast, and having a special interest in tailless configurations, I am contemplating construction of a 1:3 or even 1:2 scale model of the Haig Minibat.
I currently have a set of 1:4 scale plans, an advertizing brochure, and a number of other...

What powered skills translate best to glider? by
Joel
I'm just learning to fly and decided to start with gliders (aerotow launch). However, as I joined a club its slow to build time and get experience. I was wondering if I could accelerate that with powered flight...
1) What powered flight skills could I concentrate on that would best accelerate the...

Assembled winch has been shown capable of smoothly launching a Grob 103 Twin II to upwards of 250 feet before Ford ECU related issues caused engine shutdown. Subsequent changes to control system are believed to have solved problem, but logistical...

Inreach not working with glideport.aero by
joesimmers[_2_]
My inreach has been working for the past year just fine displaying my trace onto
glideport.aero.
I noticed about a month ago my traces are no longer showing up on there.
I know my inreach is sending out tracks I can logon to the
website and see them on the map.
Any idea what could have caused...

JS-1C vs EB 29 ASH31 by
[email protected]
Why is it that the JS-1C seem to be the open class ship? One would think the 3 choices of wing span for the EB-29 and the extra wing span would make this the best hands down open ship. I noticed that the JS-1C-18 is equal to the ASG-29-18. One would think the ASH-31 with the same outer tips as...

Looking for a set of ASK-21 ballast weights by
kirk.stant
Our club (SLSA) has an ASK-21 that did not come with any front cockpit ballast weights (the lead triangles, and the 2 "bolts" that hold them in place under the pilot's knees).
If anyone knows of a set lying around unused, please let me know.
Thanks in advance,
Kirk

Very nicely done!
Can I simply bring a glider registered as "Experimental, Exhibition and
