Random Thought by Sean Fidler
Because Cambridge refuses to provide a file update that OLC needs to maintain the integration. They have been asking for years, and Cambridge has failed to deliver. OLC is volunteer and charges no fee. Cambridge is the problem, not OLC. May I suggest buying a new logger? Nano? 500 bucks? ...

CAI-302 and XCSoar by Dan Marotta
I've noticed that XCSoar provides an Info Box for outside air temperature but it is never displayed on my Android. Can someone tell me if OAT is included in the data stream from the 302. It's really a pain to make 10 button pushes and 5 knob clicks just to get the temperature out of the...

Removing Old Tape by Kevin Christner
I have some cloth type tape sealing the ailerons of my Elfe S3. I'm pretty sure the tape is restricting the ailerons from reaching maximum deflection, and it needs to be replaced anyways. Any ideas for the best way to get this stuff off? Thanks 2C

Converting LXN log files to IGC with Windows 7 64-bit by 2NO
The "conv-lxn.exe" application I previously used to convert .LXN files to .IGC does not work with 64-bit Windows. I was unable to find any kind of upgrade or update at http://lxnavigation.si/. I am BACK IN THE AIR and have no way to prove it! ~ted/2NO

New video of gliders racing 1000 ft above the desert by Bruno[_2_]
A few friends and I had an amazing time last week down at the Hurricane, Utah airport doing some early spring soaring. I tested out a new GoPro Hero2 HD video recorder (sorry about being hand held) and was very pleased with the quality and results. I have 2 videos from this trip with this one...

See You 3.95 and U.S. Start/Finish rules by [email protected]
I can't seem to get SeeYou 3.95 to produce the same distance calculation as WinScore for U.S. AAT/TAT contest tasks with "start anywhere - even out the top" 5-mile start cylinders, and 1-mile finish cylinders. I have searched through the Naviter and RAS posts, but haven't found anything useful...

Gliders Playing Below Rim of Kolob Canyon, Utah [HD Video] by Bruno[_2_]
This is the second of two videos I made shot over two days of soaring a few weeks ago. Launching from Hurricane, Utah a few high performance sailplanes explored the low altitude soaring potential of several southern Utah parks and landmarks. This video shows us enjoying the amazing red rock cliffs...

Orbital Polisher by Dan[_16_]
When I called Wings and Wheels to order this winter's supply of Wx/ Seal and Wx/Block, Tim Mara casually suggested I consider purchasing a Cyclo Orbital Polisher. Given that the wing area of my ASW 22 BLeE is measured not in square feet but rather in acres, the biennial ordeal of protecting the...

MGL V6 transceiver vs Beckter by Eric Greenwell[_4_]
I'm interested in this relatively new transceiver (available since Oct 2011). http://mglavionics.com/html/radios.html Besides the usual features of active/standby frequency switching, 6 to 7 watt output, 10 to 30 volt input, you can label the memory channels with names and have ten groups with...

How difficult, Jeb Corliss wing suit stunt? by John Doe[_4_]
I am not a pilot, but familiar with flight simulation. I know that gliding limits your ability to control altitude. This is extremely risky? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFQc7VRJowk&feature=colike Mainly curious about how difficult that was. Thanks.

Sunlight readable PNAs sold with faulty GPS for flight by PCool
Dear all, On the internet there are plenty of announces concerning 5 inches PNAs for flight, expecially on Alibaba. People should be warned that these units will not currently report a correct position while turning in the air with an aircraft. It is a much worst problem than the HP31x, because...
