iPAQ 310 Backlight Dimming Issue by
Paul Remde
Hi,
I have been successful getting my iPAQ 310's backlight to stay on, but one
of my customers is not having any luck. We played with the backlight
settings both in the street navigation software and in the Windows CE shell.
The unit stays on but the backlight goes dim after less than 1...

The tragedy of Darfur is not over.
Africa must break its cycle of poverty.
Africa needs a better transportation infrastructure.

Cameroon, on Africa’s west coast, to Sudan, on the east coast.
The railway will go through the Central...

Cobra surge brake again by
db_sonic
Does anybody know the tolerance or how to properly set the left and
right Cobra surge brake cabling(where the surge brake rod running from
front to axle meets the coupling for the left and right cable for each
of the brakes).
What I found, like most, is that the surge brake can make the...

Going to CA for a week, would like to see it from a glider :) by
vic20owner
My wife and I are visiting San Francisco, CA next month, and I was
wondering if anyone could recommend a gliderport nearby. I only hold
a student cert so I would be going for a ride with an instructor, but
even that would be great.
thanks,
-tom

Another "But Spot?" by
Eric Greenwell
Most of my Spot track points make it to the display page, but what my
wife has noticed and complains about is the track points don't always
arrive on the display page promptly. Often, two points show up at the
same time, 20 minutes or more from the previously displayed point.
She noticed this...

Trailer Paint Scheme by
Tony Condon[_2_]
Im in the process of reskinning the trailer for the Cherokee and am nearly
ready to start riveting aluminum. I plan to paint it a nice white to help
avoid cooking my glider. Im thinking that a plain white trailer would be
boring, what should I paint on it? A few suggestions were a side view...

Larry Sarner: Crackpot and Quack by

The truth is inescapable.
The consequences are inevitable.
Larry Sarner. He “invented” voting machines that did not work. He
defrauded his investors and ended up in bankruptcy proceedings.
The deniers are well advised to...

Delicious land out spot in Arkansas by
Spam
We are making this a turnpoint from our gliderclub in Arkansas. Only
46 nautical miles to the north of our club lies an old military
airport that does not have a control tower. Easy to get in, they do
have an FBO.
The best part???
An old Southwest Airlines 737 turned into a restaurant right on...

old gliding movie by
jim
In 1954 or 1955 I saw a short movie at a local theater about gliding.
It was in black and white and involved young men building/repairing a
glider in secret from the military/police. They winch launched the
glider which was flown by their leader. The young pilot was wounded
by a military rifleman...

Cessna 150/150 Tow hook by
Ed Byars
Is there an STC for installing a Schweizer hook on a 150/150? I could just
follow 43.13-2B Chap.8 and get a field approval but I'm trying to minimize
the Fed involvement. Ideas?
Thanks,
Ed Byars

Remarkable 1-26 flight by
Carl Czech
Congrats to Doug Levy (Hangman) who completed a 716km (445sm) OLC
straight-out in his 1-26A. From his Inyokern, California launch to a
landing in Deeth, Nevada, that's about 400 statute miles point-to-
point. That's also a lot of work to get to someplace like Deeth, which
Google only describes as a...

is TE probe needed? by
JSoar
My homebuilt self-launching sailplane is getting very close to it's
first flight. However, to make a long story short, I don't have any
good place to install a total energy probe right now. I have an old
variometer that I was planning on starting with, if it still works.
Otherwise I may need to get...

Outlanding in Valle D'Aosta (Italy-Nord) - Airport closed by
pigro[_4_]
I thought everyone already knew about it. But it seems I was wrong!
The airport in AOSTA, Italy, is closed for major work on the runway.
Ground vehicles are in full operations, and the runway at the moment
is just a rough base layed in stones. The National Safety agecy will
definitely declare any...

Soaring Clubs in Ireland? by
Ryan Spicer
I'm spending a month vacationing in Dublin, Ireland. I was wondering
if anyone here could recommend a relatively close-by glider club. I
don't think I'll be here often enough to justify getting a BGA-
acceptable medical, even though I'm rated in the US, but I'd still
like to take a flight to check...
