SPOT Tracking Test - Share Page ID's Needed by
MarkHawke7
I've put together a SPOT tracking webpage capability that may work for
something the size of a standard competition. It pulls the latest
positional info from the SPOT shared pages that it is configured with
and presents them, on a google map. However, I need to test it
further with a heavier load...

SPOT tracking test at 2009 Seniors by
Frank[_1_]
Mark Hawkins (OA) of Alburquerque, NM has created a cool web page for
real-time display of SPOT track/OK/help/911 messages from multiple
SPOT units, and Mark and I are interested in trying this out at the
Seniors.
The Hawkins SPOT tracking map displays an airplane symbol at the last
reported...

LS4 GPS ant location by
HL Falbaum[_2_]
I am planning to mount a GPS/NAV M10 in a LS4. The unit is mounted in the
baggage area. I know 2 LS pilots had to mount the antenna remote from the
unit to get a signal (LS6, LS3) and a ASW 19 owner had no problem with
signal in the package area.
Antenna mount in package area would be easier,...

Trailer insulation by
[email protected]
Hello everyone,
I am trying to insulate a metal trailer because of condensation
problems. I already have a fan running. The trailer is aluminum and
the structure is rounded over the top. A waterproof material is needed
like "closed cell foam" that will not absorb moisure. The problem with
the...

Gelcoat adhesion to canopy problem by
chris
Help, I have a chronic problem with my canopy. Years ago the
plexiglass was replaced on my canopy. Since I have owned my glider
the "white painted edge" of the canopy has been flaking off. The
gelcoat seems to just lift off and flake away, leaving a ragged edge.
Some areas have the gel lift up...

advise on wax wanted by
Max Birley
I have over the years accumulated all sorts of glider waxing products. I want to remove oxidized paint and to polish my glider (it has a polyurethane paint finish) to have a smooth finish and importantly to protect it against the very strong UV light in Texas
There is a lot of talk on the net...

Godspeed Bill Bartell by

Many of us received word this morning that Bill is missing and
presumed dead in a body surfing accident in Mexico (Thanks, Roy). Was
not sure how it would affect me, but I have been pretty subdued all
day. Hard to think Bill won't be there to call when I need advice on
flying the Ventus and which...

Oklahoma Soaring Videos by

Here are few videos made from our trip to Talihina, OK. We were
hoping to get some wave flights, but ended up doing some ridge
soaring instead. Last month, we did achieve wave lift to over
11,000 feet. Last week, I released to low and had a very challenging
time trying to climb in the rotor to the...

Self-Gripping Vinyl Edge Trim with Metal Core by
Uncle Fuzzy
I'm sure SOMEONE out there knows where to get this stuff. It's used
throughout the interior of my Speed Astir, and must be terribly
common, since it's the exact same material used to trim the the
perimeter of BMW motorcycle windscreens. I even bought a chunk at the
local BMW motorcycle dealer to...
